Linda Sue Petrosky, 65, of O'Fallon, Illinois, born November 28, 1951, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017, in Mascoutah, Illinois.
Linda was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, a city she loved dearly. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Wayne State University. She devoted her life to nonprofits and charitable work. She began her career and found her niche with the Detroit Institute of Arts, managing the systems that tracked fundraising for 18 years. She also spent time with University of Detroit Mercy and Cranbrook Institute of Learning. After moving to Southern Illinois, she continued her passion of caring and charitable work with the St. Patrick Center in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a faithful member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Lebanon, Illinois. As unlikely a pair they may be, she loved both birds and cats. She also enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. Her nurturing spirit always turned its attention to her family, culminating in Linda becoming the primary caregiver for her brother, Kenneth. She was a loving sister, aunt and great aunt, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Constantine E. and Martha A., nee Zilz, Petrosky.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her siblings, Kenneth L. Petrosky and Carol A. Dillard, both of O'Fallon, Illinois; her three nephews, Brian (Sherry) Dillard, Richard (Stacey) Dillard, and Christopher (Amy) Dillard; great nieces and nephews, Beau, Ashton (Robin), Joshua, Jenna, Patricia, Kaitlyn (Joe), Jordan, Layla, and Jonathon; also her great-great nieces and nephews, Lorelai, Gracyn, Zack, Aubree and Ambellina; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials are appreciated to the America Cancer Society, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or Messiah Lutheran Church of Lebanon, IL. Condolences may also be expressed online at www.lakeviewfuneralhm.com.
