Lindsey Owen Turner, 76, of Bassett, entered into the arms of the Lord with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Mr. Turner was the founder of the L..O. Turner Company Fairystones founded in 1968. Lindsey produced 100 Fairystone crosses a day before his health began to decline. He was known throughout the United States and sold his crosses worldwide.

Mr. Turner was born on July 18, 1939 to the late Sidney Fleman Turner and Ora Mason Turner, both deceased. In addition to his parents Mr. Turner was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Mr. Turner is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bonnie Lawson Turner of the home, four sons, Sidney A. Turner and wife, Renea of Axton, Lyndon A. Turner of Danville, David O. Turner and wife, Angela of Buena Vista, and Lindsey O. Turner, Jr. and fiancé, Melissa of Bassett, three grandchildren, Meghan, Angel, and Levi, two step-grandchildren, Ashton and Nevah, three sisters, Carlene Howell of Martinsville, Ruth Crump and husband, Tom of Richmond, Jewel Wilensky, also of Richmond, a brother; Bobby W. Turner of Bassett, sister-in-law, Lois Turner of Ridgeway, numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Extended family included Jamie and Tabitha Fitzgerald of Buena Vista, "Papa Duck" Ducklings, Alex, Isaac, and Christian Fitzgerald and numerous friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Lynn Kendrick for being a wonderful caregiver. Very special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice, Stuart, VA and the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home of Dobson, NC for your special care and support during this time.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Peoples Church of the Living God with Pastor Sidney Turner, Evangelist C.L. Lawson, and Bishop Dwayne Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at the Elamsville Church of God of Prophecy. Visitation will be at Peoples Church of the Living God on Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
