MR. LLOYD (FRED) WATERFIELD, 89, Altamont, Missouri, unexpectedly passed away, Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Fred was born December 30, 1922 near Chandlerville, Illinois to Ambrose and Luella (Reed) Waterfield, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his brother, George; sisters, Irene and Estelle; and a grandson, Charlie. He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta; son, Charles and his wife, Betty, son, Glenn; a daughter, Cynthia (Lockwood) and husband, Brian; step-daughter, Diane (Schildman) and husband, James, and Judy (Trickey); three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Fred was veteran of the U.S. Army. He proudly served in World War II, in the Marianna Islands, during which time he received the Purple Heart. After twenty years in the Army, Fred began a second twenty year career in trucking and dispatch. When finally able to retire, Fred enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and his furry four-legged "kids", Tinker and Sassy. Fred was an energetic, enthusiastic, always on the go man that had a great sense of humor and positive outlook on life. He was loved by many and respected by all. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:30p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the funeral chapel. Funeral Services will be at 9:00a.m., Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home. Interment, 11:00a.m., Friday, August 24, 2012 at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. Military Honors will be rendered at the cemetery.
