Active in the community from the age of 20, Lloyd volunteered for the Stevinson Fire Department, serving as Captain part of the time. He also served on the Merquin County Water Board for 14 years; 8 as vice president.

Lloyd was a very special man and could be found entertaining visitors any day of the week. His pride and joy was his dog, Smirkie. He is also survived by sister Marlene Virgo, companion/caretaker Jan Bacon, and eight grandchildren: Jannelle, Brittney, Brianna, and Bailey Virgo; Tarynn & Trent Goiburn, and Stetson & Hunter Perguson.
