Lois D. Curran, 83, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Robert L. Curran, Sr., and daughter of the late Ralph L. and Margaret E. (Dixon) Dils, peacefully entered into eternal rest in the arms of her loving family on Sunday (May 21, 2006) at Hartford Hospital, Hartford. She leaves behind her dear friend and companion Dana Brown and her precious puppy Abby. Born in Wikes Barre, PA on October 13, 1922, she will be deeply missed by everyone she touched. She was employed by Colt Firearms during World War II, G. Fox & Company, Travelers Insurance Company and Lerner's in the Parkade while raising her family. She leaves behind her son, Robert L. Curran, Jr., and his wife, Melinda Huson of St. Augustine, FL; her daughters Margaret Peg Curran and a special friend of the family, Liliana Poletto of Old Saybrook, Lynne and her husband, Scott Lappen of Tolland and her stepdaughter, Marcia Marley of Portland, ME. Her grandchildren, Darcy Martin, Michael and his wife, April, Daniel and Robby Curran, Matthew, Shaun and Justin Lappen, Bob Marley and his wife, Tracy, Jennifer Marley. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren, Abby and Cooper Marley. Lois was predeceased by her brother Bill Dils. Funeral service will be held, Wednesday, at 11:30 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Burial will follow in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. Her family will receive friends, Tuesday from 5-8 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home.
