Lois E. Jacobson Thurston, 79, of Princeton, died Wednesday morning, January 6, 2016 at her home. She was born January 30, 1936, in Princeton, a daughter of the late Onnie and Senja (Maki) Ketola and was a lifelong area resident. Lois worked as a clerk at the Princeton Post Office and bartender at the Gwinn VFW Post 5670. She also worked for at time at Porky's Party Store and Gwinn Floral. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a life member of the Gwinn VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed BINGO, trips to the casino, singing and the Green Bay Packers. Lois is survived by her husband, Jack Thurston, whom she married on July 7, 2007; four sons, Dale (Bobbie) Jacobson of Princeton, Brian Jacobson (Debbie Roberts) of Princeton, Jeff (Julie) Jacobson of Hales Corners, WI and David (Brooke) Jacobson of Princeton; step-children, Julie Thurston of Negaunee, Jackie Thurston of Marquette and Janet Asplund of Gwinn; grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Jacobson, Briana Jacobson, Senja (Joe) Wahlman, Adam (Kary) Jacobson, Nick Jacobson, Kyle Jacobson and Ella Jacobson; great-grandchildren, Holden, Evelyn, Kinley Jacobson, Jacob & Keaton Wahlman and Matisyn Jacobson; sisters, Ruth (Jay) Christ, Mavis (Bob) Jancsi and Sheila (John) Rostello, all of Gwinn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Onnie Jacobson in 2001; brothers, Richard, Kenny, Gerald and Paul; sisters, Nancy, Shirley and Elaine. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Grace Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held in the church at 3 p.m. with Rev. Andrew Plocher officiating.
