Lois Irene Cloward Roper, 96, of Salem, Utah passed away on April 14, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born in Salem on September 7, 1915 to Lynn Dee and Ruth Sheen Cloward. Lois attended schools in Salem and attended Provo Trade Tech. She was employed at the old Payson Hospital.

She married her eternal companion, Howard Molen Roper, Sr. on March 18, 1937 and they were blessed with six children. Lois was a loving wife and mother and her family was the joy of her life. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lois served in multiple church callings.

Lois is survived by her children, Howard M. (Mary Jane) Roper, Jr., St. George, UT; Diane R. (Neldon) Jensen, Salem, UT; Marlan C. (Pat) Roper, St. George, UT: Pamela R. (John) Evans, Cedar City, UT; Kevin D. (Suzanne) Roper, St. George, UT; and Stacy R. (Bill) Pierce, Elk Ridge, UT. She also leaves behind 29 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren who love her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Molen Roper; parents, Lynn D. and Ruth Sheen Cloward; and siblings, Fern Peterson, Nelda Connelly, Lynn Dee Cloward, Jr., James R. Cloward, and Steven Mason Cloward.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Salem LDS Chapel located at 60 S. Main Street, Salem, Utah. Family and friends may call on Wednesday evening, April 18, 2012 at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday morning at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Salem City Cemetery.
