Loretta DiRaimo Galland, 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 13, 2017. She was born August 3, 1925 in New York, New York to Luigi and Antoinette DiRaimo. She was the last surviving member of the DiRaimo children, Joseph (Marie), Carmine (Betty), Anna (Joseph), and Louie (Helga).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Willis and her teenage son, Charles. Loretta leaves cherished memories of being a "great" Mom to her loving children, Wayne and his children (Will, David, and Paula), Willie, Louie (Carolyn), Al (Jonalyn), Loretta (Jeff) and their children (Connor and Daniel), Gregory (Leslie) and their children (Greg and Ben).

Loretta was an Army spouse and moved around the country with Willis and their children, finally settling in Virginia in the 1950s. She was an accomplished artist winning a juried exhibit in the early 1970s at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center.

Loretta was stay-at-home Mom until her youngest was a teenager. She went back into the workforce working at Thalhimer's and Cook's Day Care making many friends during her time there.

Loretta was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, friend and most importantly, mother and grandmother, and godmother. The twinkle was in your beautiful brown eyes until the end! We love you and miss you mom!

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Loretta's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 17, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2150 Cunningham Drive, in Hampton. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
