Loring Anderson, Jr., 83, of Culpeper, passed away Jan. 16, 2018 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Loring Morgan Anderson, Sr. and Ada Mae Smoot Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ann Baker Anderson.
Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Army stationed in Stuttgart, Germany and saw action during the Beirut, Lebanon Conflict. Following his military service, he worked for Arrington Cleaners in Culpeper for 45 years.
He enjoyed rattlesnake hunting on his family farm at Mt. Marshall in Rappahannock County.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his son, Ernest Franklin Anderson of Culpeper; his daughter, Karen Sue Anderson of Culpeper; his grandson, Matthew Ryan Anderson of Culpeper; his granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Anderson of Culpeper; his brother, John Morgan Anderson of Washington, Va.; his sister, Alice Ann Anderson of Washington, Va.; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Ashby Anderson; and two sisters, Virginia Anderson Herold and Gracie Anderson Allman.
He loved and cherished all his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home with the family receiving friends two hours prior to the service.
Pastor Sandy Martin will officiate.
Interment with military honors will be held in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Anderson, Vernon Bunch, Danny Cooper, Al Cooper, Wayne Hickman and David Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Anderson, Scott Anderson, Jeff Peyton, and Kendal Peyton.
Arrangements are being handled by Clore-English Funeral Home.
