Lou Mamie Ferrell Haynes was born October 13, 1933 in New Albany, Union County, Mississippi to Macy Visor Ferrell and Washington 'Wash' Ferrell. She departed this life Monday, September 2, 2019 in Aurora, Illinois.

Lou received her early education from Little Zion Primary School located on the church grounds of Zion Chapel MB Church in New Albany, MS. She was a 1953 graduate of Union County Training School. After graduation she relocated to Aurora, IL. She retired from National Brush Company after many years of employment. After retirement she worked as a school bus monitor for East Aurora School District 129.

Lou Mamie was married to the late Chris Haynes and to that union one child was born.

To cherish her memories she leaves her son: Christopher Haynes and his wife Lori, who served as her care-givers, of Aurora, IL, step-children: Tina Noah of Houston, TX and George Haynes of New Orleans, LA, one granddaughter: Christina of Aurora, IL, her mother: Mrs. Macy Ferrell of New Albany, MS, brothers: Harvie Ferrell and W.T. Ferrell of Aurora, IL, John Ferrell (Alice) of Columbus, OH, Hayes Ferrell (Charlene) of Lithonia, GA, and Paul Ferrell (Yvonne) of Memphis, TN, sisters: Grace Goree and Vickie McNeil both of New Albany, MS, sister-in-law: Ollie Ferrell of Ft. Worth, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris, father, 'Wash', sisters: Adgria Jones and Lora Spikener, brothers: Elton Ferrell and Hugh Ferrell and sisters-in-law: Gracie Ferrell and Brenda Ferrell.

Visitation will be held Saturday September 7, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of service 11:00 AM at The Healy Chapel, 332 West Downer Place, Aurora IL 60506. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, IL.
