Louis E. "Louie" Billmeyer, Jr. age 74, of East Peoria, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born September 3, 1943 in Peoria to Louis E. and Virginia E. (Friling) Billmeyer.
He married the former Marilyn Holmes and they had three children, Melissa Bahrour of Winter Springs, Florida, Teresa (Todd) Walker of Asheboro, North Carolina and Michael E. Billmeyer of Charlotte, North Carolina, all of whom survive.
Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Victoria Foley and Emily, Ethan and Camden Walker; and his sisters, Judith (James) Rentfro, Virginia (Theodore) Brodt, Lois Billmeyer and Jackie Billmeyer.
He was a US Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.
Louie was a forklift driver at the Hiram Walker Distillery in Peoria for twenty years until it closed. He also farmed in Tazewell and Stark Counties.
He enjoyed NASCAR and was a Jeff Gordon fan.
Louie was of the Catholic faith.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Hands of Christ ministry through St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria.
