Guilford- Louis Gerald "Lou" LaBreck, Jr. 81 of Bee Barn Road, formerly of Putney died Thursday morning, May 23, 2013 at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene following a period of declining health. Mr. LaBreck was born in Caribou, Maine on May 14, 1932 the son of Louis and Rose (Gagon) LaBreck. He was raised and educated in Caribou where he attended local schools. A proud veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea until his honorable discharge from active service. He later moved to Manchester, CT and worked as an inspector for Chandler & Evans, an aircraft parts manufacturer located in West Hartford, retiring from the company following over 30 faithful years of employment. Mr. LaBreck was an active member of the American Legion Brattleboro Post #5, active with its Memorial Unit and Color guard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, Country music and travel. Mr. LaBreck married Marion Villa who predeceased him and later Cecile Glidden who is also deceased. Survivors include one daughter Jeannine Phillips and her husband Dean of Rockville, CT, one sister Linda Michaud of Seymour, CT, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Committal Rites with full military honors will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. in East Cemetery in Manchester, CT.
