Louise R. Ellis, 83, of Bedford, died January 18, 2018 at the Ridgewood Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on March 17, 1934 the daughter of Stephen and Hazel (Snell) Tibbetts. She grew up in Goffstown, was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Goffstown High School class of 1952. She also attended Hesser College where she received her associate's degree.

She was employed as an administrative assistant for various companies. Louise was a civic minded individual and was involved in numerous political and veterans organizations. She was a member of the City Republican Committee, the Veterans Auxiliary and the Sweeney Post #2 Auxiliary. She was also instrumental in organizing many of her high school reunions. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She was predeceased by her husband Stephen Ellis in 1986 and by her longtime friend, Ben Gurley in 2012. She was also predeceased by her granddaughters Brittany Ellis and Christina Ellis and by her brother Earl Tibbetts.

Members of her family include her loving daughter Sheila Ellis of Manchester and her beloved granddaughter Tamaryn Morin of Goffstown. She is also survived by her loving nieces Linda Tibbetts Clark of Goffstown and Sandra Tibbetts Pouliot of Pembroke. Other surviving family members include her son Phillip Ellis, her grandchildren Charles Rehm, Lorraine Rehm and Elaina Ellis, three great-grandchildren, her brothers and their wives Francis "Frank" Tibbetts and his wife Judith and Raymond Tibbetts and his wife Patricia and her sister-in-law Olive Tibbetts and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday January 24 from 10 to 11 am at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester followed by a funeral service at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations in Louise's name be made to the Manchester Animal Shelter 490 Dunbarton Rd.
