Mr. Loy Smith, 91, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
Mr. Smith was born August 6, 1924 in Davidson County, North Carolina and was a resident of Trinity for 40 years. He was employed by North State Telephone Company where he retired after 33 years of service. Loy is a Veteran of the United States Army having served briefly at the end of World War II.

He was a current member of Archdale United Methodist Church.

Loy enjoyed vegetable gardening along with being outdoors and working in his yard; he especially enjoyed working on his tractor. Loy was always willing to lend a hand to those he felt needed his help.

He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and being in the company of family.

Loy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great, great grandfather.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Smith, to whom he was married for 60 years.

Mr. Smith is survived by his three children; Linda Adkins and husband James, Michael Smith and wife Susan and David Smith. His five grandchildren; Ken Laster, Steven Laster and wife Yun Lan, Christine Cline and husband Benjamin, Stephanie Springer and husband Zack and Michael Smith II and wife Megan, eight great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.

We bid farewell to a kind and gentle man and one that is treasured and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2015 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church. The service will be held at 11:00am also at the Trinity Baptist Church, 6499 NC Hwy 62, Trinity, North Carolina with interment to follow at the Trinity Cemetery.

The family will also receive friends at the home of Michael Smith on 406 Lakeview Avenue in High Point.
The family would like to thank those who aided in the care of Mr. Smith; the physicians, nurses and the staff of High Point Regional Hospital, Novant Health - Thomasville Medical Center and Graybrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
