Lucille Evelyn Lavorato Passed away in Portland, Oregon on December 30, 2017, less than 2 months away from her 101st birthday.

Lucille was born in Portland, Oregon to parents Henry and Elizabeth (Johann) Green on February 27, 1917. Her parents were of German descent and the two immigrated to the United States from Russia earlier in the 20th century. Lucille was sister to siblings Mary, Edna, Anne, Cliff, and Harry. She attended Trinity Lutheran for her elementary education. Lucille liked to share anecdote from her high school years - for a time, she was a babysitter for the movie actress Jane Powell.

Lucille supported the WWII war effort and served as a "Rosie the Riveter" among fellow women war workers in the Kaiser Shipyards.

Lucille was married to Michael "Mick" Lavorato in Portland, OR, in 1951. They resided in SE Portland and later lived in NE Portland.

Lucille became a member of St Philip Neri Parish of Portland after her husband's passing.

Lucille and her husband owned Lavorato's Food Market on Grand Avenue in Portland. During this period, she also worked as a buyer for the Bedell Department Store in downtown Portland and later worked as a sales clerk at Lipman's, a department store in downtown Portland.

In her younger years, Lucille enjoyed playing golf. Lucille loved to dance. She enjoyed going out to dinner with family and friends. Lucille was an excellent cook and her family looked forward to Sunday dinner lovingly prepared for them in her apartment.

Lucille will be remembered for her great sense of humor. She loved to laugh. She had an affinity for clowns.

Lucille had a deep love for her family and it has been said that she shined the most when she was with them just laughing and enjoying quality time together.

As much it is hard to say goodbye to such a lovely woman, we can take great solace in knowing that she maintained her independence, energy, mobility, and zest for life until the very end.

Lucille is predeceased by her parents Henry and Elizabeth Green; loving husband, Michael "Mick" Lavorato; sisters Mary Klaus, Edna Ables, Anne Saither; and brothers Cliff and Harry Green.
Lucille is survived by niece Marlene Kitzmiller; nephews Rick and Mike Green; step-daughter Lynn Thies; and cousin Joanne Krieger.

A funeral service will be held in Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd, Portland, OR on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at 2pm.
