Luther Humphreys Obituary

Luther "Gig" Humphreys, 83, of Rock Camp, passed away Thursday (December 27, 2007) at a local health care center. The Lawrence County, Ohio native was born June 25, 1924, the son of the late George W. and Emma Molter Humphreys. He was preceded in death by his wife, L. Beulah McGuire Humphreys, who passed away August 13, 2004.

Luther graduated from Coal Grove High School. He was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran and was a member of Rock Camp Methodist Church.

He is survived by:
a daughter: Lutherna Pointer of Dallas, Texas
a sister: Rita Kellogg of Ironton
several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday (December 30, 2007) at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio 45638 with Rev. Eddie Neville officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 6-9 PM at the funeral home. Military graveside rites by VFW 8850.
