Mabel was born March 29, 1951 to Louis and Emma Bacon Hill. She was one of seven children born to this union. In 1961 Mabel was baptized at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Raised on the south side of Chicago she attended John Foster Dulles Middle School. Mabel had a passion for sports, playing basketball, volleyball, and running track. After leaving Dulles, she attended Betsy Ross where she was loved and respected by many. After graduating from Englewood High School, she attended Northern Illinois University where she pursued a Liberal Arts degree.

Mabel's love for children and community service sent her back to Dulles as a preschool educator. Not only did she educate the children but many the parents as well with guidance and mentoring from Mr. Wilbur Moore.

Employed at Marshall Field's, Mabel held the position as distribution supervisor for many years as well as being one of the company's main volunteers coordinating the AIDS Walk. Mabel retired after 25 years of dedicated service with Marshall Field's.

Mabel was blessed with one son, Cameron Truman Hill born March 16, 1975. She married Charles Robinson on March 27, 1985. Theirs was a loving and devoted relationship.

She was a nurturing extended parent for all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Emma and Nancy Hill, one brother Louis Hill and step-daughter Kelley Robinson.

God called Mabel home on Friday, June 10, 2016 after battling a medical condition.

Continuing her legacy, a loving son Cameron, husband Charles Robinson, step-children Robin, Nicki, David, Michael and Ray, brothers Larry R. Hill (Annette) and Charles Hill (Janice), one sister Louise Jones (Mack), nieces and nephews, Larry Jr, Yolanda, Prentiss, Raymond, Sherman, Latrice, Angela, Stacey, Andrea, Larry Williams Jr, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
