Guilford - Madolyn E. Meyer, 80, of Bee Barn Road in Guilford, died early Monday morning, February 18, 2013 at Vernon Green Nursing Home. Madolyn was born on the family farm in Guilford on October 4, 1932, the daughter of Leon and Mabel (Woodard) Cutting. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Brattleboro High School. A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Madolyn also enjoyed puttering about her home. A communicant of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, she also held membership with the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star. On September 7, 1957 in St. Michael's Episcopal Church she was married to Herbert Meyer who survives. Besides her loving husband of 55 years, she leaves two sons, Jonathan "Jay" Meyer and his wife Anne of Putney and Jeffrey Meyer of Palm Coast, Fla.; four grandchildren, one step-grandchild, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Madolyn was predeceased by a son, Frederick Meyer; two brothers, Harvey and Clayton Cutting; her sister Minerva Cutting and her twin sister Marolyn Murray. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be conducted Saturday, March 16th at 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Brattleboro with Rev. Mary Lindquist, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Madolyn's name may be made to Rescue, Inc., P.O. Box 593, Brattleboro, VT 05302.
