Magdalena Gonzalez, 91, Colorado City, passed away on Monday, December 19th 2016 at the Mitchell County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her family by her side.

She was born on June 14th 1925 in Barksdale, TX to Antonio and Maria Gonzalez.
Magdalena was a loving and caring woman who devoted her life to family. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren meant everything to her. She was a proud woman and will be remembered for washing clothing in her large pot with her special homemade soap. Needless to say she had the most vivid and freshest clothing you have ever encountered. Her love for everyone had no beginning and no end. Whoever entered her home even for a short visit would never leave without a full belly of her most amazing cooking.

In her free time she could be seen taking a cutting of a plant she admired. With a true green thumb for gardening she would soon have the most astonishing flowers in full bloom. It was not uncommon to pass by her home and witness people passing by taking a moment to admire her gardens and even take photographs.

Magdalena is survived by her children Sylvia (Alvie Stephens) Sanford of Colorado City, Manuel Gonzales of Kerrville, Roberto Gonzales of Colorado City, Antonio Gonzales of Colorado City, Yolanda Stafford Omego of Buffalo, NY, Maria (Angel Aguinaga) Montemayor of Colorado City, and Velia Vasquez of Colorado City. She is also survived by her sister and two brothers, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Benito Gonzales, her daughters Chonita Gonzales and Magdalena Serna.

A Funeral service for Magdelena will be held on Thursday December 22nd at 10:00 am at Kiker Seale Funeral home with Father Michael officiating. Interment will follow at Mitchell County Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening December 21st from 6 - 8pm at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
