Manuel Lopez Jr., 53, Loraine, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
He was born on December 6, 1963 in Loraine at the Johnson Hospital the son of Manuel and Anita Garcia Lopez, which is where he was also raised graduating from Loraine High in 1982.
Manuel was a man who believed in putting God and family at the front of his life. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Loraine, where he married his high-school sweetheart Rosa Calderon on July 25, 1987. He was a man who believed that a man should be a hard worker. In his earlier years he worked in road construction and in the later years worked driving school bus. Many of the children on his route said that they actually wanted to ride the bus because of his funny jokes and the way that he treated them. He was the type of man that was nice to everyone, usually in a good mood and laid back. After his time driving bus Manuel worked for Txdot, until he could no longer work. He enjoyed collecting items such as super hero's, toys, race cars, and tools. In his spare time he could be seen working outside building something or working in his yard, going to the Loraine Football games, or watching the Dallas Cowboys play (win or lose). Manuel will be forever known as a great father, husband, son, and brother, and as an amazing grandpa, he will be missed by all that knew him.
Manuel is survived by his wife Rosa Lopez of Loraine, his sons; Manuel Alejandro Lopez of Loraine, Ector Cruz Lopez and wife Lilia of San Angelo, and Carlos Javier Lopez and wife Marissa of Colorado City, and by his grandchildren Jeremiah Isiah Moran, Liam Noah Lopez, and Urijah Ray Lopez. He is also survived by his mother Anita Lopez and by his brothers Freddie Lopez and his girlfriend Sara of Abilene and David Lopez of Loraine and by his sisters Maria Mendez and husband Joe of Sweetwater, Teresa Bailey and husband Ricky of Loraine, Alicia Lopez of Loraine, Cristina Morris and husband Cory of Westbrook, Lydia Lopez of Loraine, and Beatrix Lopez and wife DeeAnn of Snyder, his aunt Rosa Garcia of Loraine, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Manuel Lopez Sr., a brother Ector Lopez, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Humburto and Lorenza Calderon and by his aunt Juanita Garcia
