Marcel A. Huard, 91, of Dracut, MA and formerly of Manchester, NH, died March 1, 2017, at the Westford House Nursing Home in Westford, MA after a period of declining health. He was born in Manchester, NH on January 17, 1926, the son of Joseph and Evangeline (Charest) Huard. He grew up in the Queen City and was educated at Hevey Grammar School. He attended high school in Tyngsboro, MA studying with the Marist Brothers.

Marcel was a proud veteran of the US Army serving as a sergeant during the Korean Conflict. In 1953 he was married to the love of his life, the former Marcelle Lemire, and together they shared 63 years of life and love. He was employed as a supervisor with Granite State Machine for many years and was also self- employed as a carpenter and craftsman. He was a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the Association Canado- Americaine. He enjoyed getting together with family and friends and especially loved the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

He was predeceased by his brothers Maurice, Armand (Brother Ray), Roger and Paul Huard and his sister Jeannette Boisvert.

Members of his family include his wife Marcelle Huard of Dracut MA, his daughters Therese Brunette and her husband Michael of Manchester and Louise Germain and her husband Bob of Hooksett, his sons Albert Huard and his wife Lorraine and Richard Huard and his wife Denise all of Dracut, MA, his grandchildren Chris, Dave, Steve, Kevin, Tiffany, Melanie, Dylon, Brady, Matt and Ashley and his eight great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Monday March 6, from 4 to 7 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday March 7, at 10 am at St. Mary Magdalen Parish 95 Lakeview Ave. Tyngsboro, MA. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Manchester. Urn Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Marcel's name be made to the Monastery of the Precious Blood 700 Bridge St. Manchester, NH 03104.
