Marcella Nadine (Robertson) Cain, “Memie”, 95, of Kaufman, Texas is home at last! On March 8, 2016, it was finally ‘her turn’ to go to heaven to be with Jesus...an event that she had anticipated for a very long time.

She was born on August 22, 1920 in Fannin County, Texas to Leonard Lee Robertson and Lucy Ardell (Walker) Robertson. She loved to tell the story of how the doctor was unable to be there to deliver her because he had taken a free ride in an airplane that day! Marcella went on to develop a lifelong love of cooking. Many people remember her best for her famous monkey bread and fried pies. She was also an excellent seamstress and made many beautiful clothes. One of her favorite sewing projects was the Humpty Dumptys that she made for every newborn baby she knew.

Marcella married Allen Vernon Cain on November 2, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sister, Mary Juanita (Robertson) Hanes.

Although her family and friends are rejoicing that she is safely home, they will greatly miss her. She leaves behind a son, David Allen Cain and wife, Barbra, of Kaufman; two granddaughters: Heather Parsons and husband, Billy, of Kaufman and Christina Whitney and husband, Mike, of Aurora, Colorado; three great granddaughters: Caitlyn Parsons, Grace Parsons and Adeline Whitney. She is also survived by her sister, Nina McDaniels and two sisters-in-law: Monta Vaught and Velma Jones. She will also be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home in Kaufman, Texas on Sunday, March 13, at 2:00 pm. Services will follow at 3:00.
