Margaret Catherine Alspaugh, 92, of Ijamsville, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at her residence. Born April 6, 1919 in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Mullane Cavanaugh. She was the wife of William J. Alspaugh Sr., who predeceased her in 2003. Mrs. Alspaugh was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Libertytown. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and puzzling. Surviving are daughter, Kelley Ann Butler of Lexington, KY; son, Michael J. Alspaugh and wife Catherine, with whom she resided; 8 grandchildren, Michael and Brian Butler; Robert, Matthew, Patrick, Brian and Margaret Alspaugh; and William Jackson Alspaugh III; 7 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Alspaugh of New Market. She was predeceased by a son, William J. Alspaugh Jr. A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Libertytown, with Rev. Fr. Jason Worley, as the celebrant.
