Margaret Frances Richardson 1927-2017 Margaret Richardson of Columbia and Springfield, MO passed away peacefully on Thursday November 2, 2017 with her family by her side. Friends will be received Saturday, December 16 from 10-11am at Memorial Funeral Home with a service at 11. Graveside service will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Margaret (Pollock) Richardson was born November 6, 1927 in Columbia to the late Samuel and Mattie Pollock. After her mother's death in 1928 she was raised by her grandmother Sallie Pollock. She was a graduate of Hickman High School. On October 30, 1948 she married the love of her life, John Richardson, also of Columbia. They enjoyed more than 59 years of marriage until John's death in 2007. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Margaret knows that she loved her family fiercely. She was a great card player and could be found sitting around the family table with her grandkids until past their bedtime playing poker and eating snacks and sweets. Both Margaret and John were involved in the Masonic community in Columbia with John being a Mason and Margaret being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Margaret loved the outdoors and warm sunny days spent on Lake Pomme De Terre with her husband, children and grandchildren. While living in Columbia she won many awards with her ladies bowling league and touched many young girl's hearts as a bluebird and campfire leader. She is survived by her children, Patricia Asanti of Moberly, Cindy (Jeff) Parshall of Columbia and David (Rebecca) Richardson of Springfield; six grandchildren, Kristina (James) Baker of BellaVista, AR, Michelle (Mike) Clayton of Ozark, Samantha (Trevor) Reeves of Columbia, Joseph Cameron of Columbia, Cody (Samantha) Asanti of Springfield and John David Richardson of Springfield; and her 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband John, Margaret was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Jack Humfeld of Springfield and her beloved poodle Miller. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Masonic Home of Missouri, 6033 Masonic Drive, Ste A, Columbia, MO 65202. Online condolences may be left for the family at
