Margaret Gravely Knight, 82, of Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at King's Grant Retirement Community. She was born on November 27, 1934, in Henry County, daughter of Ben Franklin Gravely and Gracie Richardson Gravely.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Knight; sisters; Ollie Bouldin, Kathryn Dowdy, Lorene Sundquist, and brothers; Dillard Gravely and Kenneth Gravely.

Margaret was a life-long resident of Martinsville/Henry County. She graduated from Axton High School and National Business College. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, the King's Grant Community, Piedmont Art Guild, El Libro Stock Club, several bridge clubs, bookclub, and was a Master Gardener. She loved introducing new King's Grant residents to all that Martinsville had to offer and spending time with her supportive, loving, and devoted friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Lynn Knight Stuchel and husband, Scott Stuchel of Wake Forest, NC; her sister, Edith Boladz Sanders of King's Grant, Martinsville; and her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Stuchel, a sophomore at UNC Charlotte, and Meghan Stuchel, a senior at Wakefield HS in Raleigh. In addition, she is survived by her nieces, Heidi Lanford of Waynesboro, VA, Leah Gravely of Lilburn, GA, and Suzanne Braswell of Midlothian, VA; nephews, Rannie Bouldin of Martinsville, VA, Dane Gravely of Bassett, VA and Brian Gravely of Pfafftown, NC; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1901 Patrick Henry Ave., Martinsville, VA 24112. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church. The interment will be private.
