Margaret Jane (Derry) Caw, 86, of Pataskala, entered into eternal rest after living with Alzheimer's for many years on January 21, 2017 at Wesley Ridge Retirement Community. Margaret was born September 16, 1930 in Zanesville, OH to the late Walter and Hazel (Reamy) Derry. She was a graduate of Capital University, a longtime music educator in the Southwest Licking Local School District, and choir director at multiple churches. She had most recently been a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Granville, OH. She worked alongside her husband Tom at The Pataskala Standard for decades, until they sold the newspaper in 1996 and retired. After retirement, she was active as a substitute teacher in the area schools.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 65 years, Thomas W. Caw; daughter Melanie (Dexter) Jane Caw Woods, Ada, OH, and son Thomas S. Caw, Madison, WI; grandchildren Melina and Dexter Woods III, and Thomas Holden Caw; brother Bryce (Mary) Derry, Longview, TX; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Derry, and sister Eloise Johnston.

Friends may call January 30, 2017 at the Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 292 Main Street, Pataskala, from 6:00-8:00. A memorial service will be held on January 31, 2017 in Kimes Chapel at Wesley Ridge Retirement Community, 2225 Taylor Park Drive, Reynoldsburg, OH, at 3:00 with visitation at 2:00, Rev. Maxine Smith-Pierce officiating. Private interment will be held later at Pataskala Cemetery.
