Margaret (Peggy) May Mitchell of Evanston and a former resident of Winnetka, died Nov 14, in the Presbyterian Home. She was 96. Born on May 2, 1920, in Ann Arbor, MI, she lived there until she graduated from the School of Education at the University of Michigan, 1941. While at the University, she became a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. She taught first grade in Ann Arbor for three years. During World War II, she served in the Red Cross as a hospital worker at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. She married Robert (Bob) Dillingham Mitchell (now deceased) from Ann Arbor on Aug 9, 1947. They first lived in Chicago, followed by moves to Baltimore, MD, Larchmont, NY and then to Winnetka, IL in 1961. Both Bob and Peggy were active members of the Winnetka Congregational Church. Survivors include three children: David C. (Anita) of Ashland, WI; Thomas R. (Margaret) of Batavia Il; Jane E Mitchell of Nashville, IN; and eight grandchildren.
