Margret "Maggie" Mallamace, 68, passed away unexpectedly in San Jose on December 6, 2017. She was the wife of Peter Mallamace, and the mother of Kristina Hoff-Mallamace and Katie Mallamace-Hoxter. She is survived by her sister Judy McGorray and her brothers Ken Liberti and Phill Liberti. She is also survived by her niece Jeanette Landin and nephews David McGorray, Dan Liberti and Chris Liberti.

She was born in San Francisco at Mary's Health Hospital on October 7, 1949, to Achille and Isabell Liberti. Maggie graduated from Mills High School in Millbrae and attended Skyline College. She married her first husband Robert Hoff and had two daughters Kristina and Katie Hoff. After her divorce in 1985, she dedicated herself to taking care of her girls with the help of her mother Isabell.

She immensely enjoyed classic cars, volunteering with the Norcal Shelby Club and the Vintage Mustang Owners Association (VMOA) where she met the love of her life, Pete Mallamace. Maggie and Pete were married in Windsor on September 21st 1991. They lived in the Rose Garden in San Jose. Maggie and Pete enjoyed racing their Mustang "the pumpkin" at Sonoma Raceway and Llaguna Seca. Everything was a family event, and Maggie's daughters were always included in her activities.

Maggie had to deal with her fair share of health problems but she confronted everything with a positive outlook. Although her life was not always easy, she thoroughly enjoyed it. She loved going on adventures and made the best out of every moment, even if it was just a weekend away or a day trip. Maggie loved Scottish terriers. She not only owned a few (McTavish, Maverick and Shelby), but she loved collecting them as well. If you were expecting a baby, you would have received a Scottish Terrier from her. She had a quick sense of humor and lit up any room she walked into. She doted on her dogs, Tony and Shelby, and always shared her morning cookie with them. Maggie loved free samples at See's Candy and an open face turkey sandwich from Harry's Hofbrau. She enjoyed driving her cart around Valley Fair, where should never got tired of going into every store.

Maggie also enjoyed traveling with her family. One of her favorite adventures was a 2011 trip to New Orleans and Mississippi, where she and Pete enjoyed the beauty and at the best beignets in the world. In 2016 Maggie traveled to Hawaii with her whole family. She loved everything about Hawaii, including luaus and watching the sun set. One of her favorite things to do was have coffee and cookies in the morning with her husband and her dogs. So the next time you enjoy a cookie with your coffee, think of Maggie.
