Hower

Margaret "Peggy" Hower, who preferred to be called Peggy, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Ephrata Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Aldan, PA on December 28, 1930 she was the daughter of Rev. William and Lydia Dean.
Peggy was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and then in 1953 West Chester State Teachers College (now West Chester University). Upon graduation she was employed as a Physical Education / Health Teacher and Hockey coach at Manheim Township High School where she met her husband, C. Wendell Hower, to whom she was married on March 24, 1956. She left Manheim Township in 1959 to become a mother. After raising her family she returned to work with IU 13 in 1973 as a Physical Education instructor and classroom aide from where she retired in 1992.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters; Sylvia, wife of Barry Guise in Mount Holly Springs and Barbara, wife of Jim Nicolardi in Broomall; three grandchildren who lovingly knew her as Grammy; Emily Guise, Anthony Nicolardi and Holly Nicolardi. Also surviving are an older brother William Dean Jr. in Strasburg and her twin brother Jim Dean from Cresco, Iowa. A younger sister Betsy is deceased.

Peggy's Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 27th at 11 am at the Lititz Moravian Church, 8 Church Square, Lititz. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends during a luncheon following the service. Kindly omit flowers.
