A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to her family, loved her church, loved the Atlanta Braves and the UNC Tar Heels, and loved to attend the National Quartet Convention each year. These words represent Margaret Noblitt Sigmon, age 85 who passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2016. Margaret was a faithful member of Alexis Baptist Church. She was employed at Greater Gaston Baptist Association where she volunteered for over 20 years.

Margaret was born on June 6, 1933 in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Russell H. Noblitt and Pearl Ramsey Noblitt Kiser. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Pete" Sigmon, son Robert "Robbie" Kenneth Sigmon, two brothers: Clyde Noblitt and Charlie Noblitt; two sisters: Mildred Russell and Geneva Hunter.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law: Beth and Donnie Murphy of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; three grandchildren and spouse: Ashley and AJ Rowe of Belmont, North Carolina, Stephanie Helms of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Casey Murphy of Florida; six great grandchildren; one brother and sister in law: Bob and Betty Noblett of Bessemer City, North Carolina; sister in law: Catherine Noblitt of Hillsborough, North Carolina; three step sisters: Jean Dade, Susan Genry and Mary Helen Neely; many nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Alexis Baptist Church with Reverend Sandy Marks to deliver words of comfort to the family and friends. Graveside and committal will follow in the Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM prior to the service.
