Marguerite Dorothy Melzer was born in Baltimore and raised in the monastery parish in Irvington in 1924. She attended the Institute of Notre Dame and graduated in 1941. Afterwards, she went to work in the war related industry. Peggy loved to dance and did so well into her 70's. A few of her favorites were Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey. She was an avid supporter of the Baltimore Colts and always remembered the wooden bleachers at the old stadium; She remembered meeting Johnny Unitas, and Art Donovan. She volunteered at St. Mark's elementary school, and Archbishop Keough; Member of the Sweet Adeline's for 43 years and was voted Sweet Adeline of the year in 1967 by her Catonsville chapter. She always enjoyed the singing engagements but what she liked best was the nursing homes.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Melzer and Grandson Dane Melzer. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Melzer, and by her parents, George J Knarr and Marguerite Knarr (nee Giller).
