Marguerite Hancock Fletcher, 96, of Paris, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Spring Lake Assisted Living Center.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2nd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Don Morton officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Fletcher, the daughter of Elmo & Ora McClure Hancock, was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Petty.

Her retirement from the Department of Public Safety followed many years of faithful service. Many in Lamar County will remember her as the person who gave them their driver’s license test. She was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church.

Marguerite married Carma Fletcher, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1982. She was also preceded in death by three brothers & sisters-in-law; Joe & Lena Mae Hancock, Lovell & Amy Hancock, and Morgan & Kathryn Hancock and a niece, Judy Hancock Woerner.

Survivors include nieces and nephews; Rebecca Hancock Gough, Linda Hancock Lambeth, Delores Hancock Webster, Bill Hancock and Joe Roland Hancock along with many extended family members and a host of friends.
