Marguerite Jane Mikeska passed away peacefully on September 6, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 15, 1926 and grew up in Great Britain. As a British war bride, she married U.S. Veteran Frank Marvin Mikeska in her hometown of Peterborough, England. She emigrated through Ellis Island to the U.S and settled in Houston, Texas in 1946 where she and Frank made their home in the Bayou Oaks area of Houston and raised 7 children. Marguerite was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also an active member of Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association, Rosary Guild, and OLMC Seniors.

Marguerite is preceded in death by her husband Frank, her sisters Paddy Adams and Joan Mitchell and brother Robert Pearce.

Marguerite is survived by four daughters and three sons: Sandra Bickers and her husband Ron, Jeanette Mushinski and her husband James, Michele Whitt and her husband Steve, Rebecca Mikeska-Mould and her husband Paul, Robert Mikeska, Stephen Mikeska and his wife Stacy, and Maurice Mikeska and thirteen grandchildren: Craig, Curtis, Kevin, Kimberly, Jason, Jennifer, Jessica, Drew, Brody, Nicholas, Mallory, Ashleigh and Paige, and thirteen great grandchildren: Aiden, Sidney, Bailey, Ali, McKinley, Cash, Slaide, Rex, Jace, Augustus, Annastyn, Rowan and Kaius.

A visitation will be held at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Drive, Friendswood on Monday, September 11 at 6:00pm followed by a rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary Queen on Tuesday, September 12 at 10:30am, presided by Father Cobos, immediately followed by the interment at South Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, TX. Followed by a reception at Knights of Columbus, 2320 Hatfield Road, Pearland, TX.
