Maria Coronado Martinez, age 83, passed from this life into her heavenly home on January 25, 2018. She was born to Emilio M. Coronado and Guadalupe Rodriguez on May 8, 1934 in Austin, Texas.

Maria met her sweetheart, Reyes Martinez, when they were in their youth and met again in the south plains area where they both migrated to pick cotton. They eventually married and settled in the Anton area where they raised seven children. Maria was a homemaker and spent her life raising and caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to watch all her children play basketball and football. She was a loyal Dallas Cowboy fan. She had a deep faith in God and loved her family very much and was always so happy when family visited. She was a fighter and she remained hope filled and never lost faith in God even as she struggled with numerous hospitalizations and multiple illnesses.

Maria is survived by her children, Margaret (Tommy) Alvarado of Anton, Yolanda (Santos) Duran of Arlington, Patricia (Robert) Garza of Dripping Springs, Reyes Jr. (Margarita) Martinez of Amarillo, Ricky (Norma) Martinez of Littlefield, and Rudy (Patti) Martinez of Anton, her daughter-in-law Susan Martinez of Littlefield, TX, and her sister Emilia Cordova of Wimberley, TX. She is predeceased by her husband Reyes Martinez, a son Ruben Martinez, her parents, three brothers, two sisters and her great grandson, Julian Rosales who is waiting in heaven with open arms.

She has 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and 1 brother-in-law and a sister-in-law. She leaves a great legacy of children, grand children, and great grandchildren that adored and respected her. She will be forever missed.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:30pm, Tuesday, January 30th, at Resthaven Funeral Home and a funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am, Wednesday, January 31st, at Saint Anthony Church, Anton, TX. The mass will be celebrated by Father John Smith. Burial will follow in the Anton Cemetery.
