Maria Cosette "Cozie" (Zorio) Brown
Cozie was born in Summersville, WVA on November 6, 1937 to Peter P. and Kathleen (Cottle) Zorio. She graduated from Marshall University of Huntington, WVA and later attended post graduate classes at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. She taught elementary school in Wake County, North Carolina and Kettering, OH. She has been a lifelong member of the American Association of University Women. She was also a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority Alumni Association, Dayton chapter. Cozie moved many times and made friends all over the country. She was active in each community and in each area in which she lived, worked in PTO's, churches, and other community organizations. She moved to Beavercreek in 1986 from Shalimar, FL. She was a realtor at Dockery Realtors, Inc for several years. She was a member of the Kirkmont Presbyterian Church and served at various times on the worship committee and on chancel guild. She was also an active participant in the ladies bible study and loved helping with VBS. She is survived by her husband and dearest friend, James Edwin: daughter, Kathleen (Keith) Vogelhuber of Roscoe, IL: son, Leland (Shelly) Brown of Lenexa, KS; granddaughter, Emily Vogelhuber, of Roscoe, IL: brother, Carlo Zorio. She is predeceased by her parents as well as an infant son, Timothy. The family would like to give special thanks to her devoted friends Diane Kirlin, Betsy Pilkinton, Lorna Slack, and Cathy O'Brien for their tireless support.
