Marian Audrey (Dougherty) Owczarzak was born in (Rural of Boliver) Cleco, Polk County, MO on November 26, 1950 and blessed her husband Danny with the treasured opportunity to serve her as her personal hospice during the two weeks prior to entering through Heaven's Gates arm-in-arm with her Savior on January 17, 2018 in Bulverde, Comal County, Texas
She was predeceased by her Father, Frank Robert Dougherty; Mother, Lillian Gladys Nelson; Sister, Doris L. Harger and Brothers, Harry O. Harger, Daniel G. Harger, Clarence Eugene Harger, William D. Harger and Clifford G. Harger.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel B. Owczarzak; Daughter, Yvonne E. Jenson and Dione D. Owczarzak; Son, Sam E. Owczarzak and wife Alysha; 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren, (to whom she was affectionately referred to as their Great "O"); Niece, Diana B. Rieschick and Grandniece Heather Noa, both of Falls City, NE; Cousins, Nina Marie Heaton of Dallas, TX and Teri Galloway, husband Joe, their sons, Jake and Isaac of Midlothian, TX. Plus, numerous kin and relations in Buncrana, Donegal, Ireland of the O'Dochartaigh Clan.
She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English at Tarkio College, Tarkio, MO; her Master of Arts Degree in ESL at UTSA; and a Master's Certification in School Counseling at OLLU.
Marian was an Educator and Elementary School Counselor in San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) for 34 years. She served as school counselor in her retirement at several Middle and High schools in both SAISD and NISD, Alamo Community College District at both SAC and NW Vista Campuses as well as UTSA. She has touched many, many lives in her capacity of Teacher/Educator/Counselor. Marian was offered a full Commission as Captain in the United States Navy, however for personal reasons she declined.
Marian knew her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and maintained a very close walk with Him. She looked forward to serving the Lord each and every day, and her family was blessed by the examples she set. She loved her newly found church family at Christian Family Church International and every one of the "Angels" there that were placed upon her path to comfort and pray with and for her.
The family will receive friends for visitation of January 25, 2018 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX, 78218, (210) 828-2811.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Grady Eggleston of Christian Family Church International on January 26, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX, (210) 828-2811.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, TX, 78266.
A reception for family and close friends will follow at their home.
