Elizabeth Marilyn Koch Chapman, daughter of the late Madeline Belfi Koch and John Koch formerly of North Bergen, New Jersey, died 05 December 2017 peacefully at home on Ocean Avenue in Manasquan, NJ. Marilyn Chapman was born in North Bergen, NJ, on 04 October 1924 and lived in North Bergen, Maywood, and Manasquan. She was the devoted wife to the late Martin Bishop Chapman, a ceramics engineer and special agent during World War II. Marilyn worked as an administrative assistant for The Joseph Dixon Crucible Company where she met her future husband Martin after World War II. Marilyn loved spending time at the beach, taking vacations, and visiting the theater. She also loved dogs. Having friends visit at her home and enjoying their companionship was most important to her. Marilyn was a devoted resident of Manasquan starting with visits in the late 1950s from the Pine Rest (Koch) family residence in Freehold until the purchase of her first home on Ocean Avenue in 1968. Marilyn Chapman is survived by her son Major (ret.) Martin John Dean Bishop and daughter-in-law Theresa Chapman of Seekonk, Massachusetts, nieces, cousins, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A wake will be held Saturday, 09 December, at 9:30am at the Neary Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St, Manasquan, NJ. Funeral Service will be at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Hackensack, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
