In Loving memory of Marilyn Elaine Dutton of Sacramento, California, who died peacefully in her sleep on December 8, 2020 at age 76 after a long illness. She was born Marilyn Elaine Johnson in Jamestown, New York on July 19, 1944.

Marilyn worked as a Paralegal shortly after high school. She lived in Massachusetts before moving to California in the mid 1960's where she was married for a brief time. She later married again and had three children. Her elderly mother required 24/7 care during the last ten years of her life so it was no surprise that Marilyn chose to sacrifice part of herself in order to care for her mother all while raising three children. Marilyn attended college in her later years obtaining an Associate of Arts Degree from American River College in Sacramento and worked in social services.

The things Marilyn loved most were spending time with family, drinking a latte, reading a good book or listening to music. She loved to watch Christmas movies, especially the classic It's A Wonderful Life. Her favorite Television shows included I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show and General Hospital in the early 80's, rarely missing an episode of her favorite guy - Rick Springfield, aka Dr. Noah Drake/Rock Star Eli Love. She once owned a Plymouth Barracuda but sold it in the early 70's long before it became a classic...a decision she forever regretted. Marilyn loved to talk with family and friends...she'd rather listen to whatever you wanted to talk about rather than you listen to whatever she wanted to talk about.

She was uniquely humble, and she had a kind and gentle spirit. She never gave it a second thought when it came to fulfilling promises she had made to her children. Her never-ending faith in Jesus Christ kept her strong throughout her life.

She leaves behind husband David of 48 years, daughter Christine and son-in law Martin, daughter Elizabeth, and daughter Lyn and son-in-law Sean, grandchildren Brendan, DJ, Allissa, Bryson, Gillian and Sophia, brother Melvin and sister-in-Law Marlene, sister Grace, and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Russell, grandson Ethan, aunt Elizabeth, parents Rhoda and Edwin, brother-in-law Morris Jr., parents-in-law Morris Sr. and Agnes, and brother Ralph.

Funeral services pending.
