MAPLETON - Marilyn Jean (Tribe) Fauser, 77 of Mapleton, IL passed away on August 11, 2017 at 12:44 am at her residence. She was born Dec 22, 1939 to Willard and Lenora Tribe in Peoria, Illinois.

Marilyn is survived by her brother Ronald Tribe. She is survived by her three children, Michelle (Mark) Jewell of Mapleton, Mike Fauser of Mapleton, and Matt (Jeni) Fauser of Trivoli. Nine grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Carolyn June Tribe.

Marilyn was a property manager. She worked for First Federal and sold real estate for Charles Rock Realty Co. She got her CPM (Certified Property Management) designation and was the only woman to hold this designation outside the Chicago area at the time. Marilyn started her 4-M Management, Inc. property management business in 1977 and retired just recently. She was also employed by Laborers Home Development where she worked part time as a Service Coordinator at the Mel Hasty Retirement Center in East Peoria for 12 years and a member of Local 165. She taught real estate classes at Illinois Central College, member of the Peoria Association of Realtors, State and National Association of Realtors, Institute of Real Estate Management and served on the Citizens for an Accountable Legislature committee. She was President of Central Illinois Chapter 78 of Institute of Real Estate Management and President of Glen Oak School PTA for several years. She served on the board of Counseling & Family Services, Founder and President of the Tri-County Apartment Association and one of the founders of the Rural Rental Housing Association of IL in 1980 where she served as treasurer for 5 years. She was a graduate from Woodruff High School and served on the Class of 57 reunion committee.

In 1973 Marilyn joined the Peoria Ski Club. It was a life changing moment. She was elected president in 74/75, served as secretary, and was a member of the Mogals. She served as President of the Ski Kouncil of Illinois, Secretary/Treasurer of S.K.I. , United States Ski Association Recreation Committee, Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council and member of University United Methodist Church where she served on the buildings & grounds committee, Sunday school teacher and Administrative Board. She was also a founder of the Baja Babes.

Marilyn enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family, she loved her Broadway theatre and enjoyed hosting dinner parties at your house. Shopping was a passion! Marilyn was known as Grandma Jewell in Bartonville community and her house was the fun place for her grandkids and their friends to hang out after games and dances.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday, August 19, 2017 at University United Methodist Church. Pastor Paul Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, August 18, 2017 from 4-7:00 pm at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home.

In the past 6 years, Marilyn has been passionate about St. Jude and joined the St. Jude board to help raise money for the kids. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in memory of Marilyn Fauser.
