Marion S. Watson, widow of retired Colonel William H. Watson, Jr., and a resident of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on December 8, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was the only child to Augustus Thomas Small, Jr. and Evelyn Clay Small of Macon, Georgia. Marion was born June 6, 1922; her grandparents, Augustus Small and Minnie Pearce Small, adored her.

Marion loved to travel and saw much of the world and country with her USAF husband. Some of their overseas assignments took them to French Morocco and Tokyo in the 1950's & 60's. She was an avid reader who especially loved southern authors such as Pat Conroy. She was a proud Southerner and enjoyed talking about her years as a resident of St. Simons Island, GA, where she and her husband fell in love as teenagers. She was also a Docent at St. Simons Island Lighthouse where they resided before moving to Williamsburg. She and her husband were members of the St. Simons United Methodist Church.

In 2009, they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Her son, William H. Watson, III; her daughter, Lyn Watson Davis; her daughter-in-law, Ruth M. Watson; grandchildren, Lane Watson, Heath Watson, Christopher Watson, William H. Watson, IV, Sherry Davis McCauley and Trevor Watson Davis; and thirteen great-grandchildren survive her.

Marion will be buried alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later time to be announced. She will be greatly missed and her family is grateful for the love, prayers and comforting words offered during this time by all who knew her.
