Obituary

Marjorie Geraldine Hart (nee Marker) of Audubon and formerly of Plymouth Meeting, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 15, 2020. She was 86 years old. Born December 19, 1933 in Grady County, OK, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth (nee McIntyre) Marker, and the beloved wife of Donald Leroy Hart with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.

Marjorie was born on Hutson Ranch in Grady County, Oklahoma. As a child she and her brother Jessie walked two miles to and from school each day. On the way to school they had to cross a creek. When it rained the creek was sometimes so deep that a neighbor would put on hip boots to carry Marge and Jess across the creek.

When she graduated from high school, she moved to Oklahoma City to work as a typist. In Oklahoma City, she met Don at a dance while he was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base. They married and Don started a career in Finance at General Electric.

Don's job moved them to Syracuse, New York where they started a family. While in Syracuse, they had sons Kevin and Steve. While the boys were young, they moved with GE back to Oklahoma City and finally to Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania where they lived until 1989.

In Pennsylvania, Marjorie worked at General Electric as an Administrative Professional and as a Benefits Specialist. They both retired from General Electric in the late 80's. After retiring, they spent 5 years in West Virginia before moving back to Pennsylvania to be closer to their sons.

In Pennsylvania, Don and Marge enjoyed spending time with their sons and grandchildren, antiquing, gardening, and decorating their home. They moved to Shannondell in 2005 where they enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Marjorie is survived by her two sons; M. Kevin Hart (Kathy) and Steven C. Hart (Kay), two grandchildren; Lily and Vaughan and her brother Jess Marker. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister. Marjorie will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The memorial service will be held at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, her memorial service and interment will be private. A celebration of life with friends and family will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie's name can be made to a charity of your choice.
