Marjory Dilworth Gouthro, age 67, of Oakdale, Connecticut, passed away Sunday, April 30th, 2017. With her family by her side, she succumbed to a long battle with Alzheimer 's disease, and passed peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Hong Kong, China on February 18th, 1950 to the late Dr. David E. and Mary (Betty) Dilworth. Her life began in Spokane, Washington, where she grew up and later graduated as a Salutatorian from Mead High School. Having a wonderful appreciation for music, Marjory could play the bassoon as well as the piano. She later attended Seattle Pacific College but graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, before working as a Registered Sanitarian for Washington State. It wasn't until Marjory moved to Connecticut that she answered her calling to become a Special Education Teacher at the New London High School. Marjory compassionately helped many students with multiple disabilities, throughout her time at New London High, and will surely be missed by many friends and co-workers. She will be especially missed by her beloved husband Michael Gouthro, and her two sons, William and John, whom she is survived by. Marjory is also survived by her two brothers and their families, John and Sylvia Carson Dilworth and their children; David A. and Patti Pullin Dilworth and their three children; her sister, Marilyn and her husband Gary Patton and their two children. Box 3611 Peachtree City, GA. 30269, or at: A Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Montville Funeral Home, 53 Norwich-New London Tnpk, Uncasville, CT. A mass of Christian burial will follow on Monday, April 8th at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of the Lakes, 752 Norwich-Salem Turnpike, Oakdale, CT 06370.
