Mark Alvin Albinson, 58, of St. Louis, Missouri, went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 17th after a courageous 11-year battle with cancer. Mark was born July 20, 1959 in Hot Springs, AR to the late Alvin A. Albinson and Virginia Fae Mathews. A member of the Hot Springs High School class of 1977and graduate of Washington University, Mark was actively involved in the Hot Springs Jaycees until moving to St. Louis in 1986. Mark began his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) and retired with 35 years of service. While at AT&T he served in many leadership roles including one with Scroogebusters which raises money for children's charities. Always "Mr. Social", Mark took on various charity work and volunteer opportunities. After Mark's retirement, he ushered at Busch Stadium for an entire four seasons. He was an avid Cardinal's baseball fan and a loyal Arkansas Razorback fan, always saying, "An Arkansan by birth and a Razorback by the grace of God." Meeting him in heaven are his parents; his grandparents, Haynes and Elva Mathews and Alvin and Alma Albinson; as well as, his father-in-law, Don Cheek; and many other beloved family members and friends. Survivors include: wife, Alissa Albinson; daughter, Dr. Lauren Albinson-Robertson (Mike); daughter, Rachel Nanak (Matt); granddaughter, Riley Nanak; aunt, Erselle Hiemstra; cousin, Sheri Grimm (Steve); cousin, Roxanne Couch; in-laws, June and Jim Back and Paula Cheek; sister in law Donnette (Frank) Menges; and a wealth of extended family and friends. Pallbearers are son-in-laws, Mike Robertson and Matt Nanak; cousin, Jason Campbell; close friends, Chris Collier, Ed Muniz, John Thum, Simon Dibwe, and Jim McClarty. Honorary pallbearers include Robert Thum, James Back, David Nanak, Frank Menges III, Steve Grimm, Dr. James Esther, Dr. Benjamin Tan, Dr. Alexandria Gutierrez, Dr. Matthew Mutch, Dr. Elicia Elmore, Dr. Christopher Kling, and Dr. Rand Dankner. Funeral service will be at 11 am Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the chapel at Gross Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Pounders officiating. A visitation to take place an hour prior. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be scheduled in St. Louis and the details will be announced at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at Evelyn's House. In lieu of flowers, Mark specifically requested donations be made to the building fund at his home church, Central Baptist Church, 601 N Central Ave, Eureka, MO 63025.
