Mark Benson Cardwell, 56, of East Stroudsburg passed away peacefully on Thursday April 13, 2017 at The Leigh Valley Hospital- Pocono .
Born on May 31, 1960, he was the son of the late Jack Cardwell and Elizabeth Beverley Jones, of East Stroudsburg.
Mark attended Stroudsburg High School and later obtained his GED. He worked as a maintenance man at Timothy Lake for many years ,and was most recently employed at Weis Supermarkets. Mark also liked to help out at a local Hardware store, eventually becoming great friends with the owner. He may be remembered by all the neighbors as the reliable snow removal expert. He would be outside with a shovel as soon as he saw the first snowflake.
Mark was an artist, he enjoyed drawing, painting, and tinkering around with things. He was a handyman, taking care of everything from furnaces, woodworking, and masonry. Mark loved taking long walks with his dog around the dyke in East Stroudsburg, and playing games on the computer. Mark was a creative, kind, and hardworking man who enjoyed life to the absolute fullest. He will be sincerely missed.

In addition to his father Jack, Mark was preceded in death by his brother Luke Cardwell, and his Grandparents, Eleanor Lesoine, and Ernest and Lila Lesoine.

Mark had been survived by his mother, Beverley Jones, his siblings: Virginia Goida and her husband John, John Cardwell and his wife Betty, Charles Jones, all of east Stroudsburg, PA, Thomas Jones and his wife Kimberly of Morganton, GA, Robert Jones, of East Stroudsburg, PA, and Courtney Owens and her husband David, of Broadlands, VA. He also leaves behind 2 nephews, 4 nieces, 4 great nephews, and 2 great nieces.
Friends and family are welcome to celebrate the life of Mark Cardwell from 1-3pm, Wednesday at The Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. A prayer service to conclude the visitation at 3pm.
