"I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me". She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.. Marlene Elmore Hoffman, age 82 of Stanley was a woman of faith and went to be with her Lord quietly on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Courtland Terrace in Gastonia, North Carolina. Marlene was a woman who loved her family greatly and adored her granddaughter Madelyn, who was her joy in life.

Marlene was the daughter of the late Kelly Monroe Elmore, Sr. and Hattie Shehan Elmore. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Raymond Lee Hoffman and will be laid to rest by his side. One son: Joseph Hoffman; two brothers: Kelly Monroe Elmore, Jr and Charles Aldean Elmore; one sister: Betty Elmore Digh.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and son in law: Rachael Hoffman, Linda and Brian Miskelly all of Mount Holly, North Carolina; grandchildren: Madelyn Miskelly and Ian Hoffman; sister in law: Shirley Elmore of Rock Hill, North Carolina; nieces, nephews and spouses: Lisa and Larry Richardson, Mark and Jan Digh,Glenn and Betty Digh, Charles Elmore, Joseph and Karen Elmore, Leeann Duncan.

A Celebration of Life for Marlene will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Grace Baptist Church, 300 Westland Farm Road, Mount Holly, North Carolina 28120 with Reverends Max Pendleton and Brian Miskelly to officiate. Active pallbearers are: Larry Richardson, Dale Denton, Kyle Denton, Andrew Tindall, Ronnie Bozardt and Doug Horton.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Graveside and interment will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Hillcrest Gardens 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, Mount Holly, North Carolina 28120 in a private service.
