Martha "Jane" Gardner, age 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Fountainview / Highland Springs, Dallas, Texas. Jane, born August 2, 1928, to Henry Herschel and Martha Viola Wilson, in Auxvasse, Missouri, was the youngest of six children. As a young adult Jane became a Stewardess for TWA and enjoyed travelling for several years before moving to Los Angeles. It was there that she met Richard "Dick" Gardner, whom she married after only 6 weeks of dating. Jane and Dick moved to Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia for Dick's career as an engineer and together they had 2 daughters, Elaine and Anne. In 1975, the Gardners returned to the States and settled in Houston, Texas. Jane loved classical music (especially Beethoven), chocolate, anything red, and most of all, her family. Her selflessness, sense of humor and loving personality will be missed by everyone. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Rohret of Wolfe City; five grandchildren, Amy Nutt, Anne-Marie Bradford, Joseph Wilkinson, Molly Wilkinson, and Dylan Wilkinson; two great-grandchildren, Jonathon Ramirez and Lillian Brooks; and other loving family and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dick, and daughter, Elaine. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Memorial Oaks Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
