Marvin "Cecil" Landers was born in Tallapoosa, GA on March 19th, 1934. He was a longtime member of Norton Park Baptist Church. He worked as a flight line mechanic at Lockheed for 41 years. Cecil enjoyed traveling the country, and was a member of the boating and camping clubs at Longhollow on Lake Lanier. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, boater, fisherman, and enjoyed nothing more than teaching his children and grandchildren how to drive a boat, ski, fish, and just live life to the fullest. His sense of humor was second to none and his smile and laugh could light up any room. Cecil was an all around handyman and very skilled in many crafts. He will be remembered as kind, loving, generous, thoughtful and just plain fun to be around. Marvin "Cecil" Landers departed this life while in his home Thursday, November 2nd, 2017.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His loving wife of 62 years, Marie Landers; His son Stephen (Theresa) Landers; Son Ken (Jeannette) Landers; Daughter Debbie (Keith) Everett ; Grandchildren Joshua (Abbie) Everett, Melissa (Ian) Simpson, Corey (Sarah) Landers and Traci (Jonathan) Haberer; Great-grandchildren Zoriana and Blake Haberer ; beloved neighbors Jay and Teresa Wills and a host of other relatives and friends. Family, friends and others whose lives Cecil influenced and touched are invited to the Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Parkway S.E., Marietta, Georgia, 30060, on Saturday, November 4th, 2017; where guests will be received, from 5:00 until 8:00PM. Cecil's family will celebrate and remember his life, at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 5th, 2017, in the Chapel of Georgia Memorial Park. Following the service, committal will be on the grounds of Georgia Memorial Park.
