Marvin Lester Beckman died peacefully surrounded by family on October 25, 2017 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 81.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marcia Beckman, His 3 Children Jay, Wade and Blake, His Brother, Bill and Sister Barbara, 9 Grandchildren Ashley, Shawna, CJ, Brandon, Alex, Grant, Hunter, Carter and Jackson, and 1 Great Grandchild Kaliyah. He is preceded in death by his Father Lester, Mother Marjorie and Grandson Connor.
Marvin was born on November 28, 1935 in Portland, Oregon to Lester and Marjorie Beckman. He married the love of his life Marcia and was together for 57 wonderful years. Born and raised in Portland began working for Coast Vending with his dad and brother Bill and kept the family business thriving through the years, even branching off to different companies throughout his tenure. Over the years the couple welcomed 3 children into their home and Marvin set about teaching them to fish, ski among many other life lesson. His children and everyone that he came in contact with remember him as a kind, driven father and friend.
Marvin was accomplished at skiing and often coached his children's Mighty Mites Ski Team as well as volunteer ski coach at Beaverton High. He was a generous and dedicated individual who loved fishing, skiing and being with his family
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for November 4th, 2017 at 3pm at Dublin Pub located on 6821 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy Portland, OR. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marvin's life.
