Mary was born and raised in Mt. Angel, Oregon, to John and Ann Stahl, on January 27, 1923. She attended Mt. Angel Academy for 12 years. She was raised with 2 brothers and 3 sisters, who have preceded her in death. Mary moved to Portland Oregon to work at Montgomery Ward. She would eventually retire from the catalog department there, where she worked as a merchandiser.

Mary was preceded in death by two husbands. She resided in San Diego, California during WWII but would settle in Portland, Oregon and call the St. Johns area her home. Her first marriage produced a set of twins, which was rare in those days and without ultrasounds it came as quite a surprise.

Mary was an avid bowler. She traveled to many US cities with her bowling league for tournaments. She loved to dance, get her hair and nails done, shop for new clothes, and talk on the phone. Although she never allowed phone calls during dinner.

After retirement, she became a snowbird. She traveled to Yuma, Arizona, with her life companion and spent her winters there and her summers in Portland, Oregon, or St Johns. They traveled by motorhome initially and later purchased in a trailer park. She enjoyed day trips to Mexico and surrounding areas, as well as visiting the swap meets. In 2013 she relocated to Forest Grove, Oregon to be closer to family.

Mary is survived by her twins: daughter, Cheryl Moore (husband Ron) of Ruskin, Florida; son, Jim Lahey (wife Lani) of Gaston, Oregon; 3 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family, whom she loved.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Anthony's Catholic Church, 1660 Elm, Forest, Grove, OR, on Tuesday October 24th, 2017, 12:15pm.

Mary will be privately laid to rest in Mt Calvary Catholic Cemetery of Portland, OR.

Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be made to Seasons Hospice.
