Mary Frances Smith, 91, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Chriswood Assisted Living in Booneville. Born in Dumas, she was the daughter of R.H. "Judge" and Jennie Fay Kelly. One of 12 children, she was a 1946 graduate of Wheeler High School where she was class valedictorian. She attended East Mississippi Junior College in Scooba studying business. She has been a member of Thrasher Baptist Church since 1948. Over the years she served as a youth Sunday School teacher, member of the budget committee and church secretary. She enjoyed outings with the senior citizen group as long as her health allowed. She was the office manager at Mitchell Manufacturing in Rienzi for eight years. She was employed at The Daily Corinthian newspaper for 28 years as the business manager. After her retirement she enjoyed taking piano and art lessons, painting, photography and gardening.

A celebration of life service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Merritt and Bro. Doug Rakestraw officiating. Burial will be in Gaston Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Roger Storey of Thrasher; two sisters, Katie (William) Anderson of New Orleans and Edith (Don) Morris of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Jim (Barbara) Kelly and Jerry (Eunice) Kelly, both of Blackland; her Chriswood family; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, of 48 years, John W. Smith; her parents, R.H. "Judge" and Jennie Kelly; step-mother, Mary Henrietta Graham Kelly; sisters, Annie Lee Kelly, Hermie Morgan and Bernie Palmer; brothers, Fred Kelly, Herman E. Kelly, Robert W. Kelly and Roy Kelly; and her father-in-law and mother -in-law, John and Anna Smith.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
